PLANK FIRM – ALL-FOAM:

The height of the Plank Firm mattress comes in at 11.75 inches and the Plank Firm Luxe comes in at 13.25 inches (both are in the average range for modern mattresses).

We believe the only way to achieve a more firm sleep experience is to opt for the floor—an option we caution against as your body may quickly begin to feel stiff due to the absence of our mattress’s pressure relief system or feel sick from allergens and dust mites that accumulate on the floor. 

Please note: Both the Plank Firm and the Plank Firm Luxe are flippable designs, allowing you to choose between a truly firm .75 inch quilted layer on one side or a medium firm 1.5 quilted layer on the other side. 
Both the Plank Firm and the Plank Firm Luxe vary in weight starting at roughly 60 pounds for a twin to 105 pounds for a king.

Both the Plank Firm and the Plank Firm Luxe sport a breathable quilted top fabric and layers of high quality foam. Each of these quality foam layers feature open cell technology—ensuring a neutral temperature environment. 

For additional cooling comfort, you may select our GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover, which offers dynamic cooling from PCMs so you’re never too hot or too cold. (Our skilled craftsmen will sew this cooling cover onto the mattress’s surface for cooling on contact. Simply select “Add Cooling Top Panel” at your time of purchase.)
Since the GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover is about as thin as a typical bed sheet, this technologically-advanced cooling layer preserves the mattress’s firmness, comfort, and height—you simply gain a cooler night’s sleep. (This optional cooling panel is sewn on as the mattress’s top layer.)
On a scale of 1 to 10, the truly firm side of the Plank Firm ranges from a 9.5 to a 10.5 on the firmness scale—making this mattress the firmest, flatest, and healthiest sleep on the market. 

The medium-firm side of the Plank Firm ranges from a 7.5 to a 9 on the firmness scale.

The Plank Firm Luxe is slightly less firm. The medium firm side of this mattress ranges from a 6.5 to an 8 on the firmness scale (a traditionally firm mattress range). While the truly firm side ranges from a 7.5 to a 9.5 on the firmness scale. 
The Plank Firm is an all foam mattress, made with the highest quality layers of foam available and engineered to be as firm as possible, as such, the mattress’s edge support is higher than a typical foam mattress. 

For additional edge support, we recommend the Plank Firm Luxe which includes a core of individually encased coils—and surrounding the mattress’s edges, we add higher gauge coils (meaning, smaller and more tightly wound coils) for unparalleled edge support. 
Both Plank Firm models are engineered to support as much as 950 pounds—a standard feature of all Brooklyn Bedding mattresses. However, if you are looking for a mattress built for a plus size sleeper (or a plus size partner), please consider our Titan mattress, found here. 
Any mattress foundation with slats no more than 4 inches apart will work well with any of our mattresses. While a mattress foundation is not necessary, please be sure that the mattress rests on a surface with minimal to no flex.

We encourage you to rotate your mattress every 6 to 8 months for optimal and sustained flatness. However, it is not necessary to flip either Plank Firm model—unless you wish to change the firmness level of your sleep experience.
The Plank Firm is an all-foam mattress—while the Plank Firm Luxe is made from the same high quality foam layers, but with the addition of our high-quality, individually encased coils for increased pressure relief and responsiveness. 
We are confident that we are providing you with the very best bedding available. If for any reason, you decide that our mattress does not fit your needs, we ask that you first try the mattress for 30 nights from the date of delivery in order to properly adjust to the new mattress. 

Then, if you are still unsatisfied with your mattress, we will gladly refund your purchase within our generous 120 night risk-free trial period.
