How firm is the Plank Firm Luxe?

On a scale of 1 to 10, the firm side of the Plank Firm Luxe mattress ranges between 7.5-8. This ranking is deemed a traditional firm mattress. The ultra-firm side ranges between 9.5-10—meaning it’s one of the firmest, flattest sleep surfaces on the market but features more contouring than the original Plank Firm version.

What are the cooling features available for the Plank Firm Luxe?

First, the Plank Firm Luxe features a breathable quilted top on either side of the mattress, coupled with open cell technology throughout the foam layers, to help ensure a neutral temperature environment. Second, the Plank Firm Luxe mattress is constructed with individually encased coils, which allow for greater airflow.

For even greater temperature moderation, a GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover can be sewn into the Plank Firm Luxe mattress as an optional feature—just look for the "Add Glaciotex™ Cooling Cover” option on the right side of the product page when making your selection. Once you add this feature to your mattress, the cooling top panel will be sewn into the surface of the mattress to deliver ultimate cooling on contact.

The GlacioTex™ Cooling Cover is an optional feature that does not impact the comfort, firmness level, or support of the Plank Firm Luxe mattress.

How much does the Plank Firm Luxe weigh and what are it's dimensions?

What type of foundation works best for this mattress?

Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are designed to be used on foundations with solid support with minimal to no flex. This includes slatted wood or metal foundations with slats no more than 5" apart, wood or metal box foundations, and solid wood or metal platforms. If you need a foundation for your new mattress, check out our foundations specifically designed for Brooklyn Bedding mattresses here.

How does the 120-night trial period work?

If during your 120-night sleep trial (which begins once you receive your new mattress), you decide that you are not completely happy with your mattress and wish to return it, we will help dispose of your mattress and help you begin your return. 

Please allow 30 days to laps from the date of delivery before beginning the return process.

Customers are able to make use of this 120-night comfort trial on one occasion. The second occasion is not eligible for a return.

Please note: there is a $99 return fee for all mattress returns to cover the cost of picking up your mattress. We do our very best to donate, recycle, or otherwise repurpose all returned mattresses.

What differentiates the Plank Firm from the Plank Firm Luxe by Brooklyn Bedding?

The Plank Firm by Brooklyn Bedding is an all-foam mattress—and the firmest sleep experience on the market. (Next level firmness could only be achieved by eliminating the mattress altogether and sleeping directly on the floor.) Meanwhile, the Plank Firm Luxe by Brooklyn Bedding is constructed with added foam layers and individually encased coils to deliver greater pressure point relief and responsiveness. Both mattresses are flippable, which allows you to choose between a firm and extra-firm side. Many customers with a sleep partner do opt for the Plank Firm Luxe to ensure a more comfortable sleep experience for both individuals.

"Great mattress at a great price. My wife and I both prefer firm mattresses and this fit the bill nicely. I am large (6'3", 220) and the support, even near the sides was great. Haven't tried the extra firm side yet but probably won't need to. If could fix one thing, it does not seem as firm at the end of the bed. If I sit there, putting on a sock say, it seems to sag. But maybe the best mattress I have owned, and far from the most expensive. Thank you"

"Hands down, this is the best firm yet comfortable mattress we've ever owned! My husband wanted an extra firm mattress, while I preferred a medium firm feel, and somehow this mattress made us both happy. My husband is 6'3" and about 240 lbs. On our old mattress, he would sink in and we constantly had to rotate it because it wore unevenly. With this mattress, that's no longer an issue. He lays down and is usually asleep within five minutes because he's finally comfortable. I honestly think this mattress is a great choice for just about anyone. It provides excellent support without sacrificing comfort, and we're both extremely happy with our purchase."

"Double side is good . We used to get a really firm mattresses but can't find it anymore in the market. Everytime we bought indicate as firm but not actually firmly to us. Plank Luxe review

"It's a nice bed overall, but unfortunately it was not as firm as I was expecting. It is firmer than most on the market I will say, but less so than what I was hoping to experience. The outer 25% of the mattress seem to be the firmer sections, I just wish it was as firm throughout, especially in the middle. I have a steel frame with no bowing or bending in it, so unfortunately I don't believe there is a remedy for the firming issue. I recently bought a couch off of Amazon, at the same time I purchased the Luxe. The couch is the firmest piece of furniture I have ever sat or laid down on, and now I am pondering returning the Luxe and purchasing another couch to convert into a bed. The couch is what I hoped my Plank would feel like. I suppose I prefer an absurd amount of firmness, however. Maybe its just me."
