Frequently Asked Questions

What cooling features are available in the Aurora Luxe?

The Aurora Luxe is designed with the most advanced fabric on the market, delivering GlacioTex™ benefits on contact. While the average skin temperature is 91 degrees, the ideal skin temperature for sleep is 88 degrees. Cooling gel beads liquefy at higher temperatures to deliver relief; those same beads solidify at lower temperatures to ensure the perfect sleep environment.

Additionally, the mattress features copper—a highly conductive material that naturally draws heat out and away from the body—along with cooling gel treatments in the comfort foam layer and the tertiary memory foam layer. The result is the most elite cooling mattress on the market.

What is the height of the Aurora Luxe?

The height of the Aurora Luxe is 13.25.” If you choose the pillow top upgrade, the height is 14.5". An illustration of the mattress with details for each layer is found on the product page, along with a full product description.

How much weight will the mattress support?

All Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are designed to support up to 950 pounds. If you or your sleep partner weigh more than 300 pounds—and prefer more substantial support—you can check out the Titan Plus Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding here (opens in a new window).

Are your mattresses flippable?

Most Brooklyn Bedding mattresses should be rotated every 6 to 8 months but never flipped (or inverted). Our mattresses are designed with comfort layers on top and support layers on bottom, including individually encased coils in hybrid models. We also use higher quality materials that last much longer than traditional mattresses. The exceptions to the “no flip” rule are the Plank Firm and Plank Firm Luxe mattresses by Brooklyn Bedding. These mattresses are designed with varying firmness levels on either side of the mattress and can be flipped to customize your sleep experience.

What determines the firmess level in a mattress?

Several factors can contribute to a mattress’s firmness level—including foam density, transition foams and coil systems. The product specifications for each mattress, as well as unique features and benefits, can be found on the product page. Mattresses that come in soft, medium and firm level options display a firmness scale on the same product page to help you determine the right level for you. Need help determining the right firmness level based on your body composition and sleep position? You can check out our Ultimate Mattress Buying Guide here (opens in a new window).

Where is this product made?

This product is made in America using foreign and domestic components.

Reviews

Mattress seems of good quality

"Mattress seems of good quality materials but unfortunately the design is not as good, sleeping on the edge is ok but sleeping in the middle is very bad as the mattress collapses in the middle but stay high on the edges giving the feeling of a hammock, hence, it’s not collapsing at the hip support area only, but at the hall middle area"

It's okay. I'm definitely not

"It's okay. I'm definitely not sold on the Auroa, although it's better than my previous mattress. Some nights are comfy, and other times I wake up sore. I also feel the dip/divot caused by the large circular tuft-like design in the mattress. I only had the mattress for a few weeks. I can't say I will recommend it or keep it. With that being said, the motion transfer and edge support are good."

Mattress not for me

"I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. Size: Queen Firmness: Soft Honestly, I tried to love this mattress for the month+ we used it, but it made my back ache so badly. I am a side sleeper and weigh around 140 lbs. I think it is too firm for me; we added a foam mattress topper and now it is bearable. I was not getting great quality sleep and I was miserable, especially in the mornings, with my stiff back. I even tried different pillows with the mattress to see if that would help, but I couldn't find a way to make this mattress work for me. Additionally, during hot summer nights, I didn't feel any temperature regulation or breathability. We used a very thin, bamboo sheet between us and the mattress. The material is very high quality, but this mattress wasn't for me."

Belle G. (2/5)

We're on our third Brooklyn

"We're on our third Brooklyn mattress and our experience has been poor. The most recent Aurora mattress has been used since 8/8/26 and in 3 weeks it's already sagging. I sleep on an angle with the initial firm feel only in the center where no one sleeps. I weigh 175 lbs and my wife considerably less. This has been a very bad experience. I would NOT recommend Brooklyn mattresses. HELP!"

Steven L. (1/5)

Incredibly comfortable mattress. I love

"Incredibly comfortable mattress. I love the appearance with the blue and copper thread so much that I’m redoing my bedroom to match it (even though I can’t see the mattress with sheets, obviously). The edge has enough support to not collapse, I stay cool throughout the night, and I don’t find myself needing to adjust often."

Aaron L. (5/5)

"Got the softest mattress available. Ots okay, not great, as far as soft is concerned. I often sit on my bed on the edge near my nightstand and fiddle with my phone or do some nightly tasks. Its very noticeable that the side of the bed is not retaining its strength in that area. Thats disappointing after just a year. My prior mattress I didnt have that problem and I had it for almost ten years. I’ll buy at the store next time I think."

Jeffrey (3/5)

My body and family approve this mattress, yes even the dog!

"I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. After 30 nights on the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe, I can safely say our king-size, medium-firm mattress has survived the full family stress test. I am a nurse and spend plenty of 12-hour shifts on my feet, and I also work out regularly, so by the end of the day my back and legs are usually ready to file a complaint. The Aurora Luxe has been a good balance of support and cushioning. I do not feel like I am sinking into quicksand, but it also is not so firm that it feels like sleeping on a dining room table. The cooling has also been impressive since I tend to sleep warm. We chose a king because apparently our bed belongs to my wife, our dog, our two daughters, and then me if space is available. Even with all the nighttime movement, motion transfer has been minimal. Overall, it has been comfortable, supportive, and great for recovery after long shifts and workouts."

Ken M. (5/5)

Absolutely love my new mattress!!!

"Absolutely love my new mattress!!! I have severe spinal cord issues and I had been looking for my ideal mattress and finally found it, all thanks to a little YouTube channel called Weed Em and Reep. Thank you Danelle! I had almost given up and my health was getting worse by the day. Her high praise of your company and shout outs is what sealed the deal for me and I'm never going back! The Aurora Luxe cooling mattress with pillowtop is truly worth every penny."

Lisa H. (5/5)

Cool, Comfortable, and a Great Upgrade From Memory Foam

"I've been sleeping on memory foam mattresses for about 17 years, so the Aurora Luxe definitely felt different at first and took me about a week to adjust to. After sleeping on it for a month, though, I'm really happy with it. The medium firmness gives me plenty of support as a side sleeper without feeling too firm, and I haven't had any issues with aches or soreness. The cooling feature has probably impressed me the most. I tend to sleep warm, and I've been using this throughout the summer, including without air conditioning. I haven't felt heat building up underneath me at all. It really does have that nice "cool side of the pillow" feeling. Motion isolation is also very good, setup was incredibly easy, and overall I've been sleeping comfortably and waking up feeling good. I definitely plan to keep using it and hope it holds up this well for a long time. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review."

Christopher N. (5/5)

Received the king size Aurora

"Received the king size Aurora Deluxe Cooling mattress and love it! Put it in platform bed with bunkie board. We upgraded from Queen (also from Brooklyn Bedding). We got medium firmness which had no break in time. We had tried firm before but that was why too stiff for us. These beds ship quickly, come well packaged, hold up well and are nicely constructed. Our guests now enjoy our queen size mattress which after 5 years still feels great."
